Add, edit, and delete a symbol

Add a new symbol to your workspace

  1. Click Resources under Management.
  2. Click Symbols.
  3. Click the yellow plus button.
  4. Fill in the available fields (only the image and the description fields are mandatory).
  5. Click Add.

Besides uploading symbols to your workspace, you can also use our pre-made symbols by clicking the catalog, as shown below:

Add a new symbol category

It’s a good idea to classify your symbols into several categories. Thus, it’ll be easier for you to locate your symbols.

  1. Click Resources under Management.
  2. Click Symbols.
  3. Click the plus icon next to existing symbol categories (if there are existing symbol categories already) or next to All symbols (if there are no existing symbol categories yet).
  4. Type in the name of the symbol category.
  5. Click Add.

To edit or delete a symbol category, click the three-dot icon next to the symbol category’s name, as shown in the image below: docs how to add a new symbol category

Open the symbol editor

  1. Click Resources under Management.
  2. Click Symbols.
  3. Click the (three-dot) icon next to the symbol that you wish to edit.
  4. Click Edit symbol.

Here’s what you can edit on the symbol editor:

  1. The General tab, where you can edit a symbol’s main attributes.
  2. The Properties tab, where you can manage a symbol’s properties.
  3. Click to change the symbol’s image.
  4. Edit the symbol’s description here.
  5. Edit the symbol’s category here.
  6. Choose whether the symbol is safety or quality-related (or both, or neither).
  7. Edit the symbol’s tags here.
  8. Add attachments here.
  9. When you’re done with your edits, click Save. However, if you would like to cancel your edits, click Cancel.

Delete a symbol from your workspace

  1. Click Resources under Management.
  2. Click Symbols.
  3. Click the (three-dot) icon next to the symbol that you wish to delete.
  4. Click Delete symbol.
  5. Click Delete.
